Our need is His seed to grow our faith.
In the past, if anyone had asked me “do you believe, do you truly believe?” I would have said, yes of course I believe. I have believed for a long time. But what have I believed?
Hebrews 11:16 without faith it is impossible to please Him.
When Daniel was thrown into the Lions’ den, his need meant that he had to truly believe and have faith to trust God to see him through his situation. Who else could rescue him, not even the king could. The greater the need…..the greater the requirement of faith to believe for an answer to that need.
When Jesus cursed the fig tree, the next day when the disciples saw that it had died they marvelled that Jesus had the power to do that. But the Lord asks us to believe when we ask him to do something, not believe because we see the result of the request. Mark 11:23-24 Jesus said that we will be able to move mountains if we do not doubt but only believe. He said in Mark 9:23 All things are possible to him who believes.
In James 1:2 - 4 It says to count it as joy to go through trails. Why? Because, it is the only way that we will truly see and believe that God is able to do all that we need Him to do. For when we truly believe it is no effort to trust Him.
Have you put your faith in the Lord to trust him with everything to do with your life and that of your family. I know that I am still on this journey, but I am seeing that the trials that are thrown my way, are strengthening my faith to trust and ultimately to believe in our all-powerful, almighty God. Then as it says in Eph 3:20 ‘to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us’ will be unleashed in its full capacity, as the Lord is just waiting to do.
Our need is His seed to grow our faith. Trials and needs stretch us and help to strengthen our faith and trust in Jesus Christ our Lord.
