Children With Direction

We aim to Educate, Motivate and Inspire children to truly know God their creator.

We are very excited about what God is doing in the children's lives and we want to take this opportunity to encourage parents to support their primary school-aged children fully with their participation in all the activities of Lighthouse.

The response to the memory verse has been great so please keep the encouragement flowing as the children will begin to be offered incentive REWARD prizes for consistent participation and behaviour

Every week we will have something new and exciting for everyone to do. Click here for this months program details.

We'll have some quizzes and puzzles they (the children) can take home each week that will help you grow in their walk with God. If they like they can bring it back and have it checked.

Things that encourage them in the Word of God and fun to be had.

Every 3 months Lighthouse will be performing an item in Big-Church on the Family Sunday so please encourage them to participate and come along and watch.

Please encourage them to participate in all things, especially their memory verse.

• Please also remember that Sharon runs the Crèche for children under primary school age (5). It is an excellent stepping stone to Children's Church and we encourage you to make use of Crèche for all your children from toddlers up to primary school.
• Lighthouse Children's Church caters for children who have started school or have reached a similar level of maturity. There are no hard rules about starting age but the children will leave Lighthouse at the end of the year they turn twelve. Our Just Youth group caters for children and young adults 12 and over so there is a 1 year cross-over to help them adjust to life in "big church".

Exciting Curriculum

We have begun developing a great new curriculum for use in Lighthouse. It is full of new craft, games, lessons and much more. This year is going to be an fantastic year as the children press into God and learn more about Him and His Way.

As things progress the children will be encouraged to take up more responsibility in the operation and functioning of the Children's Church.

So we would appreciate full parental support in this please.

Our vision for Children's Church is to see each child nurtured and trained in the ways of God in an Encouraging environment, so that every child reaches their fullest potential that God has for them in the gifts and abilities He has placed in their lives.

Our desire is to see that the children do not just know about God - but experience the reality of having a personal relationship with Heavenly Father who Created them and Loves them.

Each child will receive an exercise book which will be used as a record book to stamp stickers, awards etc in - Please ensure the children bring it each week.

Remember parents, the same Holy Spirit that enables us, lives in our children to enable them. (He is not a smaller version.)

The guidelines by which we will function will consist of a list of I CAN'S - Not I cant's - as the Bible tells us "I CAN do all things through who strengthens me." Phil 4 : 13.

• I CAN use good manners all the time. Please, Thank You, ETC.
• I CAN sit still to listen while someone is speaking.
• I CAN keep my hands and feet to myself.
• I CAN respect things that belong to someone else.
• I CAN Sing, Clap & Dance during Praise & Worship.
• I CAN enjoy the presence of God.
• I CAN invite my friends to come and join us.

A thought to remember:

Our Motivation towards something is directly proportionate to the degree of Value we place on it.

So to increase our Motivation we must make a conscious decision to increase the Value (Importance).
