Read 2 Kings 34:1–7

Faced with a hopeless situation, this widow called on God through Elisha ... we desperately need God’s Presence, Wisdom and Protection to survive and prosper in these times of global crisis.

Elisha said to her –
1. What have you got in your house ... her house was empty, run down, all used up. She was at the end of her natural ability, except for a flask of oil. Remember oil represents the Holy Spirit. He is our only hope.

2. Find empty containers. Are you empty? Cleaned out of all that would hinder you touching God? Do you want more? Are you hungry for God?

3. Involve your children (and church family) ... her children kept bringing empty containers ... we can keep bringing all our empty friends and relations ... as many as they brought were filled.

4. Still stay hungry. Keep bringing others for when they were all filled the oil stopped. So keep bringing more containers and keep hungry for God’s presence, not hours of TV and movies ... they are satan’s ideas, moral standards and mental attitudes designed to block every spiritual impression God gives you.

Remember, God wants revival more than we do. So let’s get empty and hungry, and like that woman – desperate for God.

Blessings,
Barry
